Shield buys seizure meds for sick child

Update on our little guy Usman, suffering from malnutrition

Shield City is providing Usman's mother with the anti-seizure medication to prevent his seizures.  Usman is a fighter! With cerebral palsy, intense daily seizures and severe malnutrition, he and family are facing each day bravely. Usman was referred to us by Doctors Without Borders, after he was treated for malnutrition.

Children with cerebral palsy can suffer from debilitating daily seizures, which send a powerful electric wave through the brain.

The families of many of our children struggle to purchase the medicine consistently, which costs about $5 a week or about $20 a month. If it's between food for the whole family and this medication, families are often forced to spend their little money to feed everyone.

Usman is just one of the 40 some children we serve with cerebral palsy. With your support, we are interested in providing even more seizure medication on a more regular basis.
