Many of the special needs children at Shield City struggle with physical illness or a lack of quality medical equipment to support their disability. These children can be frequently hospitalized due to a cold or a fever, which can turn to a serious illness very quickly because of their other conditions. We also have several children that need to be on seizure medication but the families are just unable to afford the medicine, so the children are frequently taken off of their necessary medication.
Many of the families are already struggling financially and these additional medical expenses can quickly become an additional hardship for them. Your donation will make it possible for these children to remain consistently on their medication, as well as be able to have quality medical care.
