American Laura Sharpe lives in Kano, Nigeria with her three children. Laura is awesome! She is the director of Shield City, a nonprofit which offers play and physical therapy to more than 80 special needs kids in the Muslim North of Nigeria. Her whole family speaks Hausa, the native language in the Kano region. The center co-sponsored a workshop on autism training for parents in mid-April, 2025.
