New pod swing, toys for our autistic kids

Thanks to Fatty Giwa and her Parenting Autism in Nigeria community, we were able to get new therapy tools for our kids—like a compression swing and tactile play mat from @crownandcalm. These tools are now part of our sessions at Shield City, helping autistic children feel calmer, more focused, and safe in their own bodies.

For many families here in Kano, support like this isn’t just helpful—it’s essential. Most mothers raising autistic children do it with little to no outside help. There’s still so much stigma, few resources, and many carry the emotional and financial burden on their own.

One mom, who lost everything in a house fire, sent us a message filled with prayers after receiving support from the fundraiser. Her gratitude was quiet but deep—and a reminder of how far even small acts of kindness can go.

This wasn’t a flashy campaign. But it mattered. To the moms. To the kids. To us.

Thank you to everyone who gave, shared, or simply paid attention!
