Our sweet student Hamdiya, 10 years old, had THE TIME OF HER LIFE AT THE PLAYDATE! She has down syndrome, and her mother brought her to our Monday class three months ago at Shield City. This little girl's communication and fine motor skills have greatly improved during her time at the center. She had just the BEST TIME AT JOYLAND when we visited and smiled the whole day. It was like her Disneyland!
Hamdiya loves to come join her new friends and the chance to socialize with kids like her at the center. Her parents do not often leave the house with her, so she just blossoms when she arrives here. Â As soon as she arrives, she tells her sister to go and sit on the mat with the other moms!
Hamdiya loves to make all of the crafts and participate in every activity.  She calls all of the boy helpers by the Hausa word for dad, “baba," which is soooo endearing.
We love to see her happy smile when she arrives at class each Monday! Look how much fun she had below!!! We just love you Hamdiya!
